The core of today´s castle with the stone house and the soaring keep.

14th century

Originally, the Gothic "Katharinenkapelle" (Catherine´s Chapel), constructed around 1370, was situated outside the castle. Until 1403, a spacious extension was built to the East, creating a mighty bastion, standing firm on a steep rock, virtually unaccessible for attackers.

15th century

Numerous extensions of the front castle.

16th century

Modern age-style extension of the South and North wing.

17th century

Knight hall wing, "Florentinerhof" (Florentine courtyard) and the magnificent main portal.
